South Cumberland State Park - Visitor's CenterSouth Cumberland State park lies atop the Cumberland Plateau and, unlike most state parks, it is made up of ten different areas located in four different counties (including Grundy Lakes State Park, Natural Bridge State Natural Area, Savage Gulf State Natural Area, Grundy Forest State Natural Area, Foster Falls State Natural Area).
Beersheba Springs Historic DistrictTo escape the heat of one hot summer day in 1833, Beersheba Porter Cain of McMinnville followed a mountainous Grundy County pathway to a chlybeate spring that would eventually come to bear her name and, along with the amazing view of the Collins River Valley below, would inspire the creation of a summer resort that is still very much intact today and known as the Beersheba Springs Hotel.
Greeter FallsThe Upper and Lower Greeter Falls can be accessed from the Stone Door entrance of the Savage Gulf State Natural Area in Beersheba Springs. The hike is a 2 mile round trip demanding some agility and strength, but you are guaranteed a cool swim in the blue hole even in the driest, hottest summer days.
Sequatchie Cove FarmSequatchie Cove Farm is a 300 acre farm at the foot of the Cumberland Plateau. Only 30 minutes from Chattanooga, the farm is bordered by the Little Sequatchie River and is surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine Tennessee wilderness. They invite you to visit them but please call ahead of time before you drop by using the phone number provided.
Stinging Fork Falls State Natural AreaStinging Fork Falls is a 783-acre natural area located in Rhea County. It is named for the 30-foot waterfall located within the Stinging Fork gorge that attracts hikers, photographers, and whitewater kayakers. The Stinging Fork Falls trail terminates at the bottom of the falls about 1.5 miles from the parking area, making this a 3 mile round trip hike.

Virgin Falls State Natural AreaTennessee's Scott’s Gulf region has over 100 miles of publicly accessible hiking trails, including Virgin Falls - a 110 foot waterfall that is followed by a number of other impressive waterfalls such as Big Laurel, Sheep Cave, and Big Branch falls. It's a strenuous hike to get there, but it's an all time favorite.
