Big Springs Primitive Baptist Church, the oldest church in Tennessee, still stands in Springdale, Tennessee. The church was erected during the winter of 1795-96, when the area was still part of North Carolina.

The Graham-Kivette House was built in1810 and is the oldest home in Tazewell. It was built by William Graham, a merchant and one of the founders of Tazewell.

Contructed in 1819, this is the oldest freestanding jail in the state and one of the oldest in the country. Efforts are currenlty underway to restore the old jail by the Claiborne County Historical Society. It was added to the National Register for Historic Places in 2007.

The heavily forested, 3,687-acre park lies on the southern shore of TVA's Norris Reservoir approximately 25 miles north of Knoxville. Visitors to the park will find a wealth of activities to meet any interest from guided nature tours to backcountry camping.

Pete's Place is a great restaurant & grill not far from Tennessee's Big Ridge State Park that receives great reviews for their food and friendly service. This is definitely a favorite restaurant in Maynardville and great way to round off a day of hiking or boating in the Cumberland Mountains.
