Day of the Pioneer is an 18th and 19th century antique show to benefit the Museum of Appalachia. This premier antique show features the finest selection of early antiques from dealers across the country. Admission also includes a tour of the Museum of Appalachia, demonstrations from pioneer craftsmen, traditional cooking, informal mountain music throughout the grounds and a Civil War encampment.


Tennessee's Appalachian Arts & Crafts Center is a non-profit with a public art gallery and a store where they sell handcrafted arts and crafts. All of their art is handcrafted from local artists and they have a classes year round for children and adults.


This 4,038-acre park, located on the Norris Reservoir, began in 1933 as the first Tennessee Valley Authority project. Miles of trails lead through deeply forested valleys and ridges. The TVA lands are home to the Lenoir Museum featuring Appalachian Folk Life, a wonderful trail system that is very popular with local hikers and mountain-bikers.


The Lenoir Museum Cultural Complex includes the Lenoir Pioneer Museum, the18th Century Rice Grist Mill and Crosby Threshing Barn. The museum contains early American items including Appalachian artifacts, and a pre-dam pictorial account of the area submerged by the lake.
